How Meena was intoduced to Asia:
UNICHEF created Meena the animated series.UNICHEFit for South Asian children to create awareness .Children now watch broadcasts in English,Bangla,Nepali etc.This animated series was first aired on Bangladesh television in 1993.Because of its popularity this series spread in seven Asian countries.The creators were Bangladesh Mustafa Monowar,an Indian Cartoonist and also UNICHEF’s Rachel and Neill.
The cartoon’s main motive was to solve all the inequalities. These used to happen highly in South Asia. After watching it,people find out about the importance of education.Also,stopping child marriages ,girls education,hygiene,and more.Now,in some asian countries Meena day is on 24 september.
Inspiration in theme song of Meena:
The most inspiring Bengali Meena cartoon theme song is “Ami baba mayer shot o adorer meye”.Sushmita Shreshtha named as Paromita sang the song.Some lyrics of the title songs are.
“Ami baba mayer shot o adorer meye.”

Since ancient time ,there were many problems regarding girls facilities in Asia.Their family members did not allow them to come out from their houses.The main reason was ignorance,false religiousness.But mainly for the social issues.Girls had to marry at very young ages.As a result,they have to give birth in such a young ages.Thus, have to suffer from deadly illness.
People living in rural areas did not concern about their health.Likewise,they faced various illness.At that time,dowry sytem was too high. This, brides have to face brutal violence from the grooms.Social crimes were so high too.
After the release of Meena Cartoon it widely spread in both rural and urban places.This created awareness among the people.People realized that both boys and girls are important in a country.Furthermore,people got solution to solve all social problems.At the end,this cartoon fulfilled it’s motive.

There are total 31 episodes of Meena.The first episode name was “Count your chickens”.In this episode,meena wanted to go to school. but her family did not feel importance for it.So,Mithu used to go to school and memorized counting system.Later,he came to Meena and said what he memorized.Through mithu she started to count their chickens.While counting she realized there is one missing.Then,they found out one was stolen and like this her family supported her for studying.
Second episode was about dividing mango.Here it shows how inequality meena faced even plucking the mango.However,the most interesting episode was Meena’s three wishes.It shows how amazingly meena thought about her village hygiene,health and more.Recently,there was an episode to spread awareness for covid 19 pendamic.

Because of the massive popularity UNICHEF launched Meena cartoon on Dec 10,2016.According to 2023,this game was downloaded more then 5 million times on play store.Also,in iOS app store.Morever,Meena game 2 was released on Dec 17 , 2020 on google play store.This has over 4 million active gamers.Also,Meena facebook game was released on Nov 16 ,2020.

Today this cartoon series has widely spread among the asia.91% of the urban children loved Meena.81% of the rural children also loved too. In television,radios,comics and books Meena has won the heart of audience.
However,UNICHEF Bangladesh introduced Meena Media awards in 2005.The key focus was to promote children excellence.From 2012,UNICHEF started one hour radio television show . The presenters were Meena,Raju and Mithu.This receives about 1,000 phone calls from the children.
